War - Its Cause, Continuation and Termination - Teaching Only

Walter Cummins

April 10, 1976 Sunday Night Service - Emporia, Kansas WAR: Its Cause, Continuation and Termination I, personally, was born in the midst of World War I. I was in the pulpit of my first church in Payne, Ohio, my first year as a minister on 7 December, 1941. [Ed. note: the date of the bombing of Pearl Harbour.] I doubt if there has ever been a day since my birth that nations and people somewhere in the world have not been at war. War always impoverishes every nation involved, for war demands and requires the best young men and women of a nation to be sacrificed on the altar of the lust, selfishness and greed of others. Revelation 12:7-9: And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. The bottom line of the cause of war is the adversary. Death and the power of death are of the adversary — the Devil, Satan — according to Hebrews 2:14. And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. The record in Revelation and here in the Book of Luke corroborate that record in Genesis of the fall of Adam and Eve where they made, by freedom of will, their choice to serve the adversary rather than the true God. It is interesting to note that according to Genesis 1:1 in the beginning God was the One Who created the heavens and the earth. He gave Adam dominion, aut

Also, as we cover Ephesians 4:28 tonight, I had all the information in front of me from another article that Walter Cummins has in the... has had in the Magazine. The first article on Ephesians 4:25 is entitled "The Spoken Word." The one on Ephesians 4:28 is "Workers for God." Both of these pieces of work by Walter are absolutely superb. And I believe that they should appear and will appear in our research journal GMIR whenever we begin publishing that. {GMIR Aramaic word meaning ' to perfect, accomplish , mature, complete, arithmetically to be divisible without any remainder.} And I notice
