SOS - The S.O.S. Files

One of my favorite scriptures (in fact, I think this is My Anna’s favorite) is Psalm 46:10a: Be still and know that I am God. In the Aramaic, the word “still” is pha and it means turn, turn away, return and turn towards. It implies the turning of the day, which in the Hebrew day was early evening (around 6-7 pm our time). The people of the East considered that time, the quiet calm of the early evening. The main thought of the verse is To Know God. We can never completely KNOW God until Jesus Christ returns, but can move towards that direction. The word “know” is in the imperfect tense. Yada is the Hebrew word; Yaday is the Aramaic word. It means to perceive, to understand. What a great lesson God is teaching us, to be still, get quiet, for as we have heard before: the greatest cargos of life come in over quiet seas! A good example is in 1Kings 19:11-12 Elijah hearing a still, small voice. I got to thinking about the birth of Jesus Christ, and if you remember when Dr.Wierwille and the research team did the great work, Jesus Christ Our Promised Seed , they were able to document the approximate time of His birth to be between 6:18 and 7:39pm. How wonderful Our Heavenly Father is! It blows my mind! For God gave The GREATEST CARGO OF LIFE (HIS SON) in the Great Quiet Calm of or at the turning of the day! In the stillness of that day, Our Savior arrived! That might be a good New Year’s resolution, learning and cultivating more quiet seas.
