We have the great record in God's word of the moving of the mighty Word of God. In the first century, there's a mighty ministry of the apostle Paul, the book of Acts as most of you people know, all of you know who have sat in our research teaching sections through these years, is the first book in the New Testament. It is the pivotal book. The gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are Old Testament. The book of Acts, is the fulcrum, on which the New Testament and the Old Testament work together is the record, the biblical record of the rise and the expansion of the Christian church. If we want to know what happened in the Christian church, we've got to go back to the book of Acts. And then, of course, if you want to get into the depth of how each church operated, you get into the epistles, like the epistle address to the Colossians, to the Philippians, because at that scillonian to the Romans. Acts chapter 18, is where we have to begin to understand what happened in the great city of Ephesus. Ephesus was the great metropolitan city of Asia Minor. And I do not want to take the time to tell you the history of Ephesus and of its background, this you can read in that 40 volumes or something, whatever it is, you know, getting think of Encyclopedia Britannica, I guess, or some other. But you can't read in the Encyclopedia Britannica the greatness of the truth, that is set forth in the 18th chapter, beginning with the 24th verse. And there we must start if we're going to understand what happened at Ephesus, and a certain Jew named appulse, verse 24, to 18 was born, born in Alexandria, and eloquent man, and mighty
