Eph-80-81 - Lesson 37 Pt 4 (VPW) - Athletes of The Spirit

Victor Paul Wierwille

Very different today. We' re not employed of God to kill the enemy. Romans 13:12 says: The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Our armour is an armour of light, kids. The Bible says God is light. So whenever we put on God in the renewed mind, we are light. And that' s the armour. We' re the light of the Lord. The spirit in us makes us light. This is our armour. Put on the whole armour of God. Put on' is the Greek word enduo. It means ' to clothe with.' Until you put on the mind of Christ, your clothing on the outside, you're naked. Everything is visible. And this ' clothed with' is used three ways in the New Testament, enduo: To put on clothes. To put on something in the mind. And to put something new on when Christ returns. Which is the new body. Fashioned like unto his glorious body. It is used of putting on something in the mind nine times in the Word of God, people. In Romans 13:12, it' s the armour oflight. Verse 14, it's the Lord Jesus Christ. In Galatians 3:27, it's putting on Christ. In Ephesians 4:24, it's the new man. In Ephesians 6:11, it' s the armour of God. In verse {Ephesians}14, it' s the breastplate. In Colossians 3:10, it's the new man. In verse12 of Colossians three it' s bowels of mercy. In I Thessalonians 5:8, it's breastplate. Those are all of them in the Word. The battlefield today, Corps, is nothing else but your mind. That's the battlefield. It' s not a geographical area unless you got a small brain and you want to put that in a geography department. Now, be renewed in the spirit or the life of your mind. You put on the new man in the mind. And the new man is God' s gift, it' s Christ in you the hope of glory. God is light, who is Christ in you, God in Christ in you. So you put on the new man which is the armour or the clothing with the light. So you put on everything. Operate the nine manifestations, produce the nine fruit of the spirit that ye may b

you go... and what does it mean 'don't let the sun go down upon your wrath?' See. In the context, here, verses 26 and 27 deal with your believing neighbor, specifically. Then the Greek word for ' anger' which is from the root orge, o-r-g-long-e means 'anger together with the desire of revenge .' That' s bad. That' s a heavy. The Hebrew word means ' to kill, and all the tumults of passion that terminate in killing.' So it's a real heavy word when it said ' be angry.' And the way I believe it's used in God' s Word, ' be ye angry' means ' it's a long time anger with your believing neighbor until a change has ensued.' The desire to... of revenge is a change. And I, knowing the Word in the light of the new birth, it's where a change finally comes about. Until that time, you just, long-term, you just stay put witnessing the Word, sharing the Word. You do not dislike the believing neighbor; you
